Using up those scraps to make kids clothes

I don't know about you but with all the dressmaking I did over lockdown my scrap bag of fabric has grown! I'm more conscious these days about how I use these leftovers and let's face it fabric is not that cheap so using every scrap of the precious stuff is a necessity!

The small offcuts that can't be used for a larger project are used for stuffing my Closet Core pouffe. Full blog post about that here.

But, I've found I've had larger strips and even half metres left which are perfect for making outfits for my daughter. She loves matching mummy at the moment (she's 10 this year so I need to appreciate this phase while it lasts!) So I've whipped up a few pairs of simple elasticated waist trousers and dresses to add to her summer clothes.

I've also discovered shirring and made her the cutest co-ord in daisy print fabric (leftovers from a hinterland dress I made myself). It's really satisfying using all the bits of fabric, any other strips leftover have been made into hair ties and scrunchies.

How do you use your fabric scraps?
