Star print dress
Star print is one of those I fall in and out of love with every few years...But I'm back in love this year! I've been wanting a little black dress I can wear to the pub/ out for dinner, that's easy to chuck on and style with trainers/ boots or sandals. I did what I always do before planning a make and trawled for inspiration on Pinterest...
I knew I wanted a shorter dress and loved the idea of tiers and sleeves with a bit of volume. How gorgeous is the velvet one far-right...definitely in the back of my mind for winter with some hand-sewn beading/ gems, so pretty!
I found some viscose challis fabric on Minerva that was only £4.99 p/m and would fit the bill nicely! I love their viscose challis, they wash and sew up well and I've got used to stitching with that weight of fabric now, something I avoided for years for some reason always deferring to a more stable cotton...silly me!
I hacked the Myosotis once again (sorry not sorry) and gave it a really short skirt and long full sleeves
It's hard to tell because it's black but it has a ruffle on the bottom, I cut the skirt off just 1.5cm below the pocket bag and attached the ruffle so it's a mini dress, I love the volume it gives the bottom of the dress having the extra ruffle and would definitely do this again, I think it just makes the dress look more expensive with this added detail.
I can also add a belt to cinch in the waist which makes it look like a different dress, this would be cool with boots and a biker jacket for Autumn...
