Another Shelby dress...
I made a Shelby Romper from True Bias patterns earlier this year and it's had so much wear I thought it was about time I made another!
I've been wanting a maxi dress to add to my wardrobe for a while now and when I saw that Sew Me Sunshine had some red spotty viscose in stock I snapped it up to create a 90's inspired maxi dress! My SIL immediately said it reminded her of a dress from the movie True Romance which I was very chuffed with! This fabric is back in stock so be quick if you want some as it goes...fast!
This pattern is really popular in the sewing community for a reason, it fits like a dream and comes together fairly easily. I used 3 metres of fabric for this maxi and I'm 5ft8" and a size 12 for reference.
I used some mock tortoiseshell buttons from Samantha Claridge Studio to finish it and it's been worn lots over the hot summer we've been having!
I think I'll get some Autumn/ Winter wear by adding a chunky jumper and tights as I love the layering look...I'll report back with styling pictures once the weather starts to turn.
I'm tempted to make another perhaps with some hacked puffy sleeves as I have some of the green spotty Lady McElroy fabric in my stash...I can't resist a polka dot!
